Always be sure to check the school website for any additional information.
Book Orders: When book orders do go out they will include a class code. You may use this if you would like to order online. You may also send a check payable to Scholastic with your student to school.
Lunch Account: Lunch money may be brought directly to the office or you student may bring it to me at school. I ask that you please place the money in an envelop with the students name.
Homework: At the end of each day the students will be filling out their own assignment paper of sorts. This will be weekly the students write down their homework on their own. In the room will be a list of homework given each day as well as reminders. It is their responsibility to make sure the information is wrote on their assignment paper. It is also their responsibility to show it to you each day. Please sign or initial the assignment paper so I know they are showing it to you each day. (I understand life gets crazy so if you are not able to sign the paper I ask that a responsible adult (or older sibling) may also sign the paper)
Spelling packets will be given the first day of each week and expected to be returned on the Thursday of that week unless otherwise stated on the assignment paper. Spelling tests will be on Friday's unless otherwise stated. I will try to keep updated spelling lists on the website for work at home.
Birthdays: We enjoy celebrating birthdays in the classroom! If you would like to send treats with your student, please send only store-bought items. If it is a food item, it must be in its original wrapper - with ingredients on the label. Pencils, erasers and stickers are fun treats too! We will celebrate students' summer birthdays on their half-birthday during the school year.
Clothing: All students are required to wear non-marking gym shoes during gym class. I ask that if your student likes to wear sandals during the year that they have socks to wear with their gym shoes. Winter time: When there is snow on the ground, your student needs to have boots on their feet. Please make sure your student has a hat, gloves or mittens, snow pants, boots, and a warm winter coat. Also please make sure they are labeled. (I will ask them to bring winter gear home a few times for washing! 4th graders play rough and get dirty often!)
